Following are the milestones that have brought us to the present and help us look to the future.
1989 : A committee is formed, in collaboration with the C.L.S., to establish the organization;
1990 : L’Éveil receives its charter on January 18, 1990; preparation of the organization’s by-laws and first general meeting.
1994 : Creation of the labour market integration program.
2001-2002 : Work integration project subsidized by Emploi-Québec. Outreach program initiated for businesses in the region.
2006-2007 : Board of Directors review of the organization’s operations.
2008-2009 : Introduction of watercolour and notch and clay sculpture workshops to the delight of our clientele. Lunch with soup and dessert.
At the end of January 2011, L’Éveil becomes the owner of a building that will house the organization’s facilities as well as a 3 1⁄2 apartment.
2012-2013 : Signing of a service agreement with the Centre de santé et des services sociaux de la MRC de Coaticook for the planning and implementation of measures to promote the socio-professional integration of people living with a serious mental health issue in the Coaticook MRC.
2015-2016 : L’Éveil becomes the lead organization for the street worker project in the Coaticook MRC.
