Following are the milestones that have brought us to the present and help us look to the future.

  • 1989 : A committee is formed, in collaboration with the C.L.S., to establish the organization;
  • 1990 : L’Éveil receives its charter on January 18, 1990; preparation of the organization’s by-laws and first general meeting.
  • 1994 : Creation of the labour market integration program.
  • 2001-2002 : Work integration project subsidized by Emploi-Québec. Outreach program initiated for businesses in the region.
  • 2006-2007 : Board of Directors review of the organization’s operations.
  • 2008-2009 : Introduction of watercolour and notch and clay sculpture workshops to the delight of our clientele. Lunch with soup and dessert.
  • At the end of January 2011, L’Éveil becomes the owner of a building that will house the organization’s facilities as well as a 3 1⁄2 apartment.
  • 2012-2013 : Signing of a service agreement with the Centre de santé et des services sociaux de la MRC de Coaticook for the planning and implementation of measures to promote the socio-professional integration of people living with a serious mental health issue in the Coaticook MRC.
  • 2015-2016 : L’Éveil becomes the lead organization for the street worker project in the Coaticook MRC.
