How to delete your browsing history
For your protection and to keep your Internet browsing confidential, we recommend that you clear your browser history in the event of domestic violence or for other reasons you may consider valid. Here’s how to clear the history in the main browsers:
Microsoft Internet Explorer 6.x for Windows
- In the Tools menu, click Internet Options.
- Click the Clear Browser History button.
- Click the Delete Files button.
- Click OK to return to the browser.
Microsoft Internet Explorer 7.0 for Windows
- In the Tools menu, click Internet Options.
- Click the General tab.
- In the “Browsing history” section, click the Delete button.
- In the window that appears, click Delete files in the “temporary internet files” section.
- Click OK to return to the browser.
Google Chrome
- Select History from the menu.
- Click Clear browsing data…
- In the Clear items tab, click the one you want (“Last hour” to “All time”).
- Click Clear data…
Mozilla Firefox 1.5 to 3
- In the Tools menu, select Clear history.
- Tick the Cache box.
- Click Clear history now.
Mozilla Firefox 3.5 to 3
- In the Tools menu, select Clear recent history
- Select All in Time range to clear
- Click Details
- Tick only the Cookies and Cache boxes
Safari 1.3.2 and higher
- Choose the Clear cache option from the Safari menu
- Click Clear
- Click Delete now
